title- Billie eilish

this piece is titled Billie Eilish. That is because I chose to draw her for my portrait. In this piece an element I used would be value because to make it more realistic there needed to be different values in the face to show the light and dark areas. I put emphasis on the eyes to make people more drawn to that part of my piece. There is also some contrast in the eyes to make them look more realistic.

Before I started I put a grid on the picture I wanted to create and then I gridded my paper. My piece was made using only my pencil an eraser and my paper. I started with the Face shape and continued by lightly drawing the eyes nose and mouth before I did anything else. I self evaluated my piece and realized what I needed to fix or adjust and I also set my piece to a distance to see any flaws that I could fix. I struggled with drawing the nose and mouth but then we did a demo with the class and I was then able to complete my piece.

The reason I did Billie Eilish for my piece was because she is a really inspirational artist because she shows others that your age cannot limit your ability to achieve your dream. A lot of people look up to her and I wanted to try and draw it. This piece does not show a personal or social problem in society it simply shows who I look up to.

My goal as an artist is to become better and maybe one day be able to draw more realistic pieces. I want to be able to show problems in society through art in a more convenient way. I dream of being able to draw realistic pieces that really show the beauty and the issues of the society that we live in. I think if people see things from a different perspective they might have a better understanding of things and I believe art will be able to do that.

While creating this piece I learned how to draw a more realistic nose and mouth. I also learned how to shade a lot better for portraits. The final piece is better than I imagined. I really like how it turned out and think that I have made a lot of growth this year. This piece will influence my future pieces because now knowing what I can do I will strive for more and to become better because I know that I still have a lot of work to do and that I could still get better.

title: no solution.

This piece is titled "No solution". My piece is based on the metaphor johns answer to the problem was just a band-aid not a solution. In the piece you can see a city burning down with an explosion in the middle. The element I attempted to show was texture. I tried to show this by making the concrete wall look rough and like it was falling apart. I also made the road look really grainy and not just all one solid color to give it more texture. A principal I used is emphasis with the explosion. I did this by adding bright colors for the explosion so that when you look at my piece your eyes move to the explosion before you look at anything else.

Before I started my piece I made 4 different sketches to really figure out how I wanted to portray my piece. To make this picture I used a mixture of regular pencil and Prisma color pencils. In my sketchbook I practices blending the colors together to see if I would be able to make what I needed. I did a self evaluation by looking at what I felt like needed to be different to make my piece better

This piece is inspired by Joey Guidone. I wanted the "problem" to express a real life event so I made it represent everything that was happening in the protest when the cities were being burned and people would riot and protest. My artwork is showing real life things but also showing how some "answers" wont always help.

My goals as an artist is to become better and maybe make a career out of art. This piece helped me to learn more about how to use Prisma color pencils and showed me more of my potential and what could be better. So I do think that this piece helped me reach my goal as an artist but I am not there just yet.

I learned that using Prisma's is not very easy and takes some time to learn. This piece is not completely done yet but I feel like it is what I wanted it to be. This is because I think it shows the point that I was trying to prove which was the metaphor. This piece showed me a lot that I could work on and what I do good at.

title: my admirer

this piece is title my admirer. This piece is based off of my mom because she is the person that I look up to. When you look at my piece you will see a drawing of my mom and some imagery in the background. In the background you will see a bunch of thing that I think will represent my mom including her name. One element that I used was line. I attempted to put different lines and things to take up some of the negative space in the background. One of the principals I used was emphasis. I did this by surrounding the human drawing in a bunch of different bright colors so that it stood out more.

Some of the media that I used was magazines , modeling clay, pencil and water color. One technique that I used was before I started I sort of made swatches of the water color just to see what what look good together. I also redid a lot until I learned how to get it right.

The person that inspired my work is Michel keck. This piece does not express a personal or social issue it just depicts my mom who I admirer. For this piece all I wanted to do was express my mom in a drawing. I did this by cutting out a bunch of her favorite things from magazines and I used those for the background.

My goal as an artist was to create a piece that represented the style that we are learning. I wanted to show people what my mom is like. I wanted to make something that I have never really done by using different types of media. I also wanted to try and make a more realistic drawing of my mom to really pull the whole piece together.

Throughout this piece I have learned that not every type of media will look good together but I have learned what does go together and that will help me in the future. The end result is sort of what I imagined but it would be better if I had made the person look a little more realistic. This piece will influence my future work because it showed me what I could fix and also what I can now do with my knew knowledge.

title- butterfly

The title of my piece is butterfly. If you look at my piece you will see that it represents impressionism which is little brush strokes that show movement. The subject matter is a butterfly. The element that is shown in my piece is value. This is shown by adding light and dark shades of color to make the impressionism. The principle that is used is movement because the piece represents impressionism which is short brush strokes that show movement.

The media that is used for my piece is acrylic paint and a regular canvas. Before I started my piece I made sure to do my four sketches to figure out what composition I wanted to use I also worked with making the colors match so that the piece was not all over the place. I spent a little while figuring out how I wanted the background to look so that it made the butterfly pop more. By using the colors I did you can see the butterfly in the middle with the clack grey white and peach colors.

My piece was inspired by Vincent Van Ghogh. My artwork does not express any type of issue rather than the beauty of the species. I represented this beauty by using bright colors because that butterfly's are really bright and can lighten anything up. I tried to show happiness because certain things give certain people a sense of happiness and butterfly's is what makes me happy. They represent peace and calmness. When you think of butterflies then you will think of bright things that bring joy rather than anything that is kind of dull.

Right now my goals as an artist is to just thrive and be better than I have ever imagined myself to be. I would like to learn more styles and find what makes me comfortable. This piece did help me reach my goal because I have never done a piece in this style so it really helped widen my range of creativity and it will definitely help me in the future because it has showed me what things fit together and what things might not work so much.

I learned that there are so many styles of art that have been created and I still have a lot to learn. The final piece is what I have imagined because I really like the style of impressionism that I chose. This has shown me that I can still try different styles and has also showed me that I should explore new regions of art which will help me a lot in the future.

title- video games

The title of my piece is video games. If you look at my piece you will see two people and one has a game controller in his hand this is me and my brother. The element I used in this piece would be value because making the couch I had to make sure that it looked realistic and like it was kind of 3D. The principle I used I think would be emphasis because I tried to make the biggest thing in the picture be the couch with the people on it so that that was the first thing you looked at.

The media that I used is a regular led pencil and a mixed media paper. Before starting this piece I made 4 sketches with altered compositions to figure out how I wanted the picture to look I also viewed many different styles of art for this.

The artist that inspired this piece is Yehunda and Maya Devir. My work expresses my family and a lot of how we spend our time. I tried to express happiness because when I get to spend time with my family it brings me joy.

My goals as an artist is to learn from my mistakes and to get better than I am now. This people helped me realize what I needed to work on and what I could actually do if I really tried. Because doing this piece I really struggled drawing the faces and I still am so it is really just a bunch of trial  and error.

I learned that it is not that easy to turn people into a cartoon and the same with the opposite way so I will need a lot more practice. My final piece is not what I imagined right now but I feel like if I keep working on it I will get better. This will influence my future work because it has shown me what can be fixed and what I really need to look at regarding styles of art.

title- breakfast

The name of my piece is breakfast. In my piece you will see a few breakfast items like bacon sausage toast and an eg. I used the element color to create contrast in my piece. I depicted a food that I like which would be breakfast.

For this assignment I used air dry clay and acrylic paint. I started this all by creating four pictures of how I wanted each side of this piece to look like we then began to sculpt the shape of our food and proceeded to add a lot of detail to make it all look realistic.

My work does not express a social or personal problem it just represent a personal food that I like. I wanted to create a really realistic piece to show my best ability. I used many different colors and tried to make this piece look as good as I could while using what I had.

Right now my goal as an artist is to become better and be able to work to the best of my ability. I want to be able to show people that there are many different ways to express your emotions. art is a really good way to do that. This piece did help me reach my goal because it showed me how to use a different media that I am not use to.

Something I learned for this piece is that you need to make sure that you clay is not to thin because it will crack and break. This final piece is what I imagined and what I wanted it to look like. This piece made me realize that I really like working with 3D pieces and making things out of clay so I might want to do something with this when I am older.

title- print making

The title of my piece is butterfly. If you look at the piece you will see a print of a butterfly. The purpose of this was to create something that could be carved painted and later transferred to another object. Kind of like a stamp. I used the element space to create a sort of pattern for this.

For this piece I used the bottom of a Styrofoam plate a led pencil and acrylic paint. To begin with we created 4 sketches of what we wanted to do and made sure that our paper was the same shape and size of our Styrofoam and we then flipped it upside down and carved our design onto the Styrofoam so we could then put the acrylic on it and transfer it to our paper.

Our artist of study was Andy Warhol and Rembrandt. My work does not really express a personal or social problem for this piece. I tried to show people my ability to use a printmaking technique since it was really all new to me right now.

My goals as an artist is to try new styles and see what I can do at the best of my ability. This piece did help with my goal because when we started this piece I did not know what it was or what I was doing and in the end I think I did a pretty good job and it was really fun.

I learned that print making is harder than it looks because if you do not have your carving deep enough it will not work. This final piece is what I imagined because in the beginning I had very little hope for this but I think it turned out really good. This piece showed me many different new techniques that I could use for the future.
